This is a repost of an older entry from the old site - my apologies for the low resolution of the images: 2009/10 was quite a long time ago in terms of technology.
Our beloved Doberman/German Shepherd Ruby-Tuesday had developed a spindle cell tumor at the top of her leg. I applied the Cura Limone (Lemon Cure) in the hopes of shrinking and getting rid of the tumor. It worked and we were relieved.... Until she was diagnosed with another cancer that would claim her 2 months later.
The lemon on the left started out looking just like the lemon on the right!
The fresh lemon was rubbed all over the tumour. Then 12 blue and 1 white pin were inserted. See black sludge (malvaggio) oozing out at pin site.

The look and feel of the lemon perfectly mirrored the changes in the tumour. The tumour in question was a spindle cell tumour on the right hind leg of my beloved late dog, Ruby Tuesday. The tumour had completely necrotized and sloughed off her leg, leaving nothing but a scar.
Unfortunately it was a different cancer that would take my Ruby less than 2 months later. Proving to me that when it's a creature's time to go, you may negotiate a reprieve, but you can't cheat death.
We had no other choice than to have her put to sleep on March 5, 2010. What the cura limone did provide Ruby was a dignified end of life. No needless suffering from surgery.
